Thelma Swimsuit Photos
Candid photo of Thelma Todd in a bathing suit, taken in the 1930's.
Another picture, which I believe may have been taken during the making of CORSAIR in 1931.

Topper's Christmas Carol

From Thelma Todd!
Thelma Todd, Doris Dawson, and Jack Mulhall.
They were all in NAUGHTY BABY and there were also Thanksgiving pictures of them.
An autographed picture sent out by the Hal Roach studio in the thirties.
Roach made the "Our Gang" comedies. The idea here is that Thelma Todd is supposed to be a little girl going off to school with a blackboard on which her name ( "Mary Christmas" ) is written, as well as some schoolbooks and her lunch. They didn't specify that she was one of the Our Gang kids, but you could consider it to be related to the series.

TOYLAND PREMIERE
TOYLAND PREMIERE was a 1934 Oswald the Rabbit cartoon involving Christmas and Santa Claus, and featuring caricatures of a number of movie stars, including Laurel and Hardy, Shirley Temple, Al Jolson, Boris Karloff ( Frankenstien ), Johnny Weissmuller and ( I believe ) Lupe Velez. Lupe Velez swings off with Johnny Weissmuller at one point, something that I recall being done in another cartoon ( I think it was COO COO NUT GROVE ).

BROKEN TOYS (Silly Symphonies )
Disney artwork showing the characters from the cartoon. The Zasu Pitts character can be seen in the "dump" scene at top, evidently in a wooden tub. In the middle of the page she is shown receiving a sawdust transplant and at the bottom she is part of a procession of toys to the orphanage.

BROKEN TOYS ( Silly Symphony )
Several movie stars are caricatured as toys in this 1935 cartoon, including Ned Sparks, W.C. Fields, and Zasu Pitts. Again we have an association of Zasu Pitts with Mae West as the Zasu Pitts character does a Mae West impersonation after receiving a sawdust transplant. The cartoonists liked to caricature Mae West and Zasu Pitts and it was a recurring thing that they were shown together. I have sometimes wondered if this was related to the teaming of Thelma Todd and Zasu Pitts by Hal Roach.
