Marion Byron
Marion Byron was teamed with Anita Garvin by Hal Roach as a "female Laurel and Hardy" before the Thelma Todd series began.
I always thought Marion Byron would have made a nice partner with Thelma in her series of shorts, had she stayed in the employ of Hal Roach. Her petite size would have matched up well alongside Thelma.
I think they could have done that, and they might have tried teaming Anita Garvin with Thelma Todd, but they didn't. Although Anita Garvin was in a couple of the films with Zasu Pitts and Thelma Todd.

ReplyDeleteMarion Byron handled slapstick well and was a good singer too. This portrait is a very nice glamour shot of her.
