Information from the seller:

Circa 1934 8x10 single weight glossy photo of Thelma Todd. This is an original vintage mid 1930s Hal Roach Studios print, not a copy. Stamped on verso by Hal Roach Studios and photographer "Stax" (Clarence Graves). Print is in beautiful, near like new condition.


A magazine cover with a similar picture had a 1931 date on it, so it's likely that this picture was also from 1931.

First Jimmy Cagney hit Mae Clark with a grapefruit, and then Thelma Todd went and stuck her elbow in it. That poor vegetable really takes a beating.


This business was discussed in a SCREEN ODDITIES cartoon in the thirties.

And also depicted on a French magazine cover during the same decade.

 

 

 

 

Grapefruit archery will do the trick if a girl can't think of a way to catch a man's eye.
