THE FIGHTING KENTUCKIAN was a 1949 Republic production which starred John Wayne and Vera Ralson. Also in the cast was Oliver Hardy in a rare solo appearance. He was quite good in this part and could have continued as a solo act in films, but mainly continued to work with Stan Laurel for the rest of his career.

Evidently SHIELD OF HONOR was on a film program with BEAU HUNKS, among other things, and William K. Everson wrote the following notes for the event.
Reblogged from https://www.nyu.edu/projects/wke/notes/titles/shieldofhonor.php
And yes, James Horne played Abdul Kasim K'horne in BEAU HUNKS.
Thelma Todd isn't mentioned. Reminds me of this author's book about Laurel and Hardy.

SHIELD OF HONOR was a Universal picture that was released on Dec. 10, 1927, the same day as THE GAY DEFENDER. Here we have three lobby cards for this movie. Thelma Todd may be seen at the left in the first one.
Special Thanks to Jorge Finkielman for providing us with these pictures.

Mae West could be seen as similar to Peggy Hopkins Joyce, or to Thelma Todd for that matter.
Mae West's first movie was NIGHT AFTER NIGHT ( 1932 ) starring George Raft.

AIR HOSTESS was a 1933 Columbia picture starring Evalyn Knapp which had Thelma Todd as the "other woman", a wealthy upper-class gal on the prowl who would have reminded people of Peggy Hopkins Joyce. Here is a little of this movie that someone uploaded to youtube.

THE OLD BULL is a 1932 Zasu Pitts and Thelma Todd comedy which was directed by George Marshall. The name probably had some significance which I am unaware of. The story involves Zasu Pitts and Thelma Todd going out driving and running into a barn, afterwards having a series of mishaps involving farm animals, farmers, and an escaped lion.
