Thelma Todd got a lot of publicity out of appearing in the 1932 movie SPEAK EASILY, with Buster Keaton. And while Keaton's talkies are not well regarded today, this movie would originally have been considered a success. The end of Keaton's series at MGM after only one more movie was due to problems behind the scenes, rather than a failure at the box office.
