"The Case Against Chaplin" - PHOTOPLAY, September 1943









































































Adela Rogers St. John didn't always get her facts straight. I don't know about the part about Stanley Lupino being an air raid warden*, but he wasn't killed by a German bomb, he simply became sick and died. Still, if he made any kind of a contribution to the war effort at all, there was reason to say that he did more than Chaplin was doing at the time.


*Donati's IDA LUPINO does say that Stanley Lupino was an air raid warden during the second World War.
