Description:
Restored by Eric Stedman of The Serial Squadron www.serialsquadron.com Music by Kevin McLeod www.incompetech.com
James Kirkham inherited a lot of money and wants a life of adventure, exploring in darkest Africa, but instead, after a robbery at an antiquities auction, finds himself and his fiance Eve kidnapped by parties unknown and taken to a macabre mansion of horrors such as the world has never known, inhabited by demonic-looking freaks, torturers, and killers. He and Eve will be granted freedom only if he agrees to the "ordeal of seven steps" presided over by the mansion's owner and leader of the bizarre cult that meets within it -- apparently Satan himself! 1929 - SEVEN FOOTPRINTS TO SATAN - Benjamin Christensen - (JORNAL DO BRASIL, Friday, June 7, 1929, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil)
The ad shows Thelma Todd in the clutches of a gorilla, with Creighton Hale coming to her aid. Note the reference to "Vitaphone" in the ad. Although this film has been referred to as a talkie, it was actually a silent movie with musical soundtrack on vitaphone records played in sync with the film.
