Although the original "Boy Friends" series at the Roach studio in 1932, a similar series at another studio began in 1935 which was called "Our New Friends". Produced by William Berke, the films starred David Sharpe, who also recieved story credit, and Gertrude Messengier, who was married to him at the time. Mickey Daniels, and Mary Kornman were added to the cast of the last two. All the films in the series were around an hour in length and emphasized action.
