THE DEVIL'S BROTHER was a 1933 film starring Laurel and Hardy, with Thelma Todd and Dennis King. Although it was based on a famous comic opera as the poster says

 

it could also be seen as a thirties gangster film. The character known as "The Devil's Brother" in the story is a notorious bandit who steals Thelma Todd's valuables.
