Pathe Announcement For 1928-1929

Pathe was at one time an important film distributor in the United States. Later their importance decreased, although they continued to distribute the Pathe news in this country for years.

Within a few years, Marie Prevost would be dead of starvation as a result of being told she was "too fat" to work in the movies.
Lina Basquette was one of Thelma Todd's friends.
This was her most famous movie.

Pathe had distributed THE PERILS OF PAULINE in the silent days.

But with the coming of sound serials went into something of a decline.

Paul Terry's cartoons were at one time distributed by Pathe.

The coming of sound would see the popularity of cartoons increase following the great success of Walt Disney.


Pathe had distributed the films of Hal Roach. After that, they distributed the films of Mack Sennett.

Thelma Todd appeared in one of the "Grantland Rice Sportlights" .

Phyllis Haver started out as one of Mack Sennett's bathing beauties.
